The most important advantage of a core barrel is that it assists to concentrate the torque and crowd force on a small ring of cutting teeth.Core Barrels are used when conventional augers are less effective or in conjuction with tapered rock augers for very hard rock drilling.They are used to cut a ring in rock or concrete and slightly reinforce concrete. The center core of the rock or concrete is usually crushed with rock bits.
Core Barrels range from diameter of 600mm - 3000mm and come fitted with a Kelly Box (drive hub) to suit your machine.

Core barrels are generally divided into two types:

Core barrel with bullet bits (Applicable for strong rock up to 100Mpa or rock with deep cracks)

Core barrel with roller bits (Applicable for very strong rock formations with compressive strength greater than 100Mpa).

The Core Barrel is designed with a thin cutting edge to maximise the penetration rate through less contact surface area having to be cut and removed.

The diameter series of buckets are standard sizes,other lengths and diameters can be supplied on request.
